Rick Wagner Art is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Rick, an award winning artist, has been engaged in the fine arts since he was a child. He intuitively looks
for the beautiful in the common, the unusual in the usual, the perfection in the broken and the uniqueness of the mundane. Bookmark this page and Visit us often! We are always adding to our collection and
displaying new offerings.
The Focus
His focus has always been on the unnoticed – those things that we all look at but never see. How many of us have looked at drifts of new snow and marveled at their beauty (or cursed them in the driveway) and yet overlooked the
fine and delicate crystalline structure of each flake? Rick has photographed the flakes. How many old barns have we seen decaying in the fields without noticing the beautiful texture of the wood and the strength in the beams?
Rick has captured that. How many times have we waited for the flowers of spring to bloom and yet missed the miracle of the blooming? Rick has preserved that. He wants each of us to see the special things that he sees. His
perspective often results in pleasant and surprising results.
The Art Form
Many of the photos Rick takes are presented in alternative forms. He creates beautiful works in sepia tones, brilliant color, and dramatic black and white. He is able to print selected pieces on canvas the result of which is works of art resembling fine old paintings. This process mutes brilliant colors creating an
heirloom appearance. Unless otherwise requested, all his prints up to and including 8” x 10” are printed on glossy photographic paper. Larger pieces up to 16" x 20" are printed on matte paper. Requests for pieces larger than 16" x 20"
are reviewed and quoted.
The Presentation
Each and every piece is individually matted and framed to enhance its special qualities. The presentation is a significant part of the art form. Because of this approach, each piece is unique and no two are exactly alike. Rick
Wagner Art is always looking for quality, unique and special framing materials to enhance each piece. All frames are solid wood unless otherwise noted. Buyers are asked to select a motif and wood color so that their works of art
can be created especially for them. Please note that wood is, by its nature, beautiful in it imperfections. Your artwork frame may have some natural wood grain, and surface imperfections. This adds to the beauty and the
uniqueness of each piece and is not a defect or damage.
The Purpose
These pieces make wonderful gifts for those arriving or saying “goodbye” to Naperville, graduating high school or college students, new (or well established) brides, new home buyers or birthdays. They are perfect for
redecorating projects or for just creating a new or fresh look in your own home, brightening a dark corner or finally filling that empty space. Let a Rick Wagner Art piece show you the things that you wish you had noticed.
